CHURCH

This iconic church is located in Small Town, Mississippi, on the Museum’s grounds.

The original Epiphany Episcopal Church was organized near Carlisle, Mississippi on April 7, 1843, and was built in an area referred to as the "McCaleb settlement" on April 19, 1844. In 1887 a new mission was forming in Hermanville, approximately four miles southwest of the Church of Epiphany. In 1897, the old church building was torn down and its materials were used to build a white frame structure, the new church at Hermanville. The Church served its community for many years and in 1982 the last services were conducted and the building was donated to the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum. This church has been the home of many pleasant memories over the years and is in need of maintenance and repairs.
