This exhibit has been the heartbeat of the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum for many years and is in need of new signage and building maintenance.

About the Gin

  • Built by Peter Bisland in 1892

  • Sold in 1952 to Charles McMahon who generously donated it to the Museum in 1982

  • To our knowledge, it is the oldest operating gin in the U.S.
